step
that's what's going on
thank you
good evening welcome to the Planning and
Zoning commission hearing regular
session
for August 16th and I have a roll call
please
chairman human Vice chair kosher here
commissioner Morgan here commissioner
Quinn here commissioner Velazquez here
commissioner Bari kello here
commissioner Lopez here we have Cora
thank you okay first item is the Pledge
of Allegiance led by our vice chair
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the
United States of America and to the
Republic for which we stand one nation
under God indivisible with liberty and
justice for all
thank you very much appreciate that
okay
to the audience before this meeting we
had a study session going through the
different items
I believe there's a couple different
stipulations that were just added in
between
um one is on the
canine Resorts we're changing that to a
four-year time step instead of a three
correct Kevin chairman correct
stipulation number six will be reworded
to say these from it shall be valid for
a period of four years in the three
years that's for item three okay
commission okay with that
okay Kyle's happy
um in the next stipulation is on item
number five
do you have a stipulation Mr chairman
we've got it so uh there's a slight
amendment to stipulation number nine of
item five uh A and B of nine remain the
same C is what it's changing it says for
outdoor Amplified performances Monday
through Friday uh 12 right now it says
10 a.m to 8 P.M but we're rewarding that
to 12 P.M to 8 p.m and Saturday through
Sunday 12 P.M to 8 P.M so it's just
changing it from 10 a.m to 12 p.m and
from 9 A.M to 12 p.m okay thank you any
concerns or comments from commission
okay good
um and just one other thing it's not a
stipulation but on item number two
staff's going to work with the applicant
on the streetscape along
um okay to make sure that the masking's
not we don't have all these straight two
stories so other than that I have one
one card that was turned in a speaker
card
Bob McCarty looks like in favor of the
bottle and beans you wish to talk on the
item
sure okay if you want to come up state
your name and address for the record and
believe it on consent
uh Bob McCarthy 2511 West Queen Creek
Road Unit 109 I live at the caves and
and Chandler so my wife and I uh
originally from Minnesota moved to
Gilbert
big neighborhood in Gilbert
um but then we became empty nesters and
when we went looking for a place to live
we were hey
we got to go to Scottsdale because
there's no place like Scottsdale in the
East Valley even though we love the East
Valley
and then we ran at the downtown Ocotillo
and I got to tell you a lot of things
that Drew us was the opportunity to
since both of us travel was to come home
on a Friday night get up Saturday not
have to get in the car and go to chop go
to the living room go to ball and bean
and go wherever it is and one of our
most favorite things to do is to be able
to go out especially at ball and bean
where they're at the grass area is when
they have
their different performers come and play
just a kick back relax
and listen to that music and it is the
number one reason we chose to actually
move to the case because we knew what we
were getting into I mean we did that
because that's it's uh entertainment a
little bit of a district but that was
the draw to us and I I love what's
happened over there I love what Bible
being is looking at doing
um it's we have friends over all the
time and that's the number one comment
that we get is like what a very cool
neighborhood you live in we can see why
you guys chose to live there versus
Gilbert so I just wanted you're in full
support of of having that music open
um once again that was the number one
decision maker for us moving there
versus moving all the way up to uh
Scottsdale
so thank you for your time appreciate it
thank you very much we do think we're
better than Gilbert and baron Scott I
know right and you're way close to the
airport that's absolutely about a doubt
uh to the audience
um does anybody else have any item on
the agenda they have a question on or I
can make a comment on
if not uh what's commission's pleasure
okay
commissioner Lopez SM move for the
approval of the Kansas agenda for the
Pine zone commission regular meeting of
August 16th items one through six with
the previous previously stated modified
stipulations
second
I have a second any further discussion
all those in favor say aye
aye aye opposed okay motion carries
unanimously thank you to the staff we
are recommending body to the city
council this will go to the city council
most of this is stuff what the meeting
of September Kevin
okay cool any announcements from staff
uh just quick one uh so uh item six was
the cancellation of the September 6th uh
planning commissions so close to the
Labor Day weekend
so the next gen is going to be on
September 20th
um that's going to be a a typical night
for us it'll be a little bit longer
um we have a couple things tracking to
that agenda through our public hearing
process and we've got a zoning case for
the southwest corner of Queen Creek and
Arizona Avenue multi-family case that we
do anticipate some citizen input on that
one as well as a cell tower down at the
Sunbury golf course we think we'll have
some citizen input so more than likely
to action items so we'll be running that
one long
um preceding that we've got a A list of
a long list of code amendments that
we've been stacking up for about three
and a half four years uh we were Monday
night we were with uh city council one
of the subcommittees uh next Monday will
be at the other subcommittee with the
other half of the bucket of these codoms
we want to bring these to Planning
Commission in their raw form uh and can
I get them out in front of you and kind
of seek your your input and guidance on
those so we'll be holding a work session
for those code amendments on that when
day more than likely based on how long
it's taken us to get through city
council subcommittees for these half
buckets we're more likely to be starting
that at 3 P.M uh on September 20th so I
want to get that out now to get that
kind of out on your on your radar uh for
that day so other than that nothing
that's even
thanks Kevin any other comments from any
commissioners
with that everybody have our Labor Day
is coming up everybody have a great
Labor Day weekend try and stay cool and
I think they're saying it may rain this
weekend so we shall see so anyway
everybody have a great night
